Senior Capstone Project
This was a self-initiated project for a Senior Capstone Project that was developed over the course of the final semester at NIU. The project entailed developing a brand identity for a hypothetical beach hotel and restaurant that is called “Sunset Oasis.”
The Process Book conveys the process of the project in it’s detailed entirety. The Brand Book conveys the key standards for how the brand should be represented for when future designs are created to maintain consistency across all platforms.

This institution would be located on a fictitious, small, and secluded island, only accessible by ferry boat. The purpose would be to provide a very peaceful and relaxed getaway, where guests can be immersed in nature by the beach and surroundings, as well as enjoy some planned activities. A majority of beach hotels are in very busy and congested areas with a lot of people and noise. The very secluded location would provide a much more peaceful and relaxed getaway.
The word OASIS was chosen as part of the name as it’s defined as: something or some place that provides refreshing relief. This is very fitting as the idea of the institution is to be in a very remote, secluded area, away from the busyness, where people can truly relax.
The target audience would include beach enthusiasts who want a quiet, yet fun, experience with opportunities for recreation at the hotel and natural surroundings. The demographic would be couples over the age of 21.
